Laser Lights

I shot these ages ago with Aerlise, and at the time thought I hadn’t done a very good job with them so they sat on my hard drive, and I had every intention of never editing them.

Recently though I had been thinking I would like to try shooting some projection stuff, and then remembered I had these images that were taken with the use of a laser. I had a root around my hard drive, dug them out again and decided to try editing a couple. Weirdly this time they seemed pretty cool and editing them was a breeze. Its strange that more often than not I can go back to a shoot months and months later and either find stuff that I had passed by and had been missed from the editing queue, or find stuff I had thought was awful only to completely change my mind upon a second viewing months later.

I have had this laser for years, since my mobile DJing days, its been sat in a box in a wardrobe since then doing nothing until I dug it out for these images. Obviously it was pretty dark and I had to up the ISO quite a bit, These were shot around ISO 3200, on a Nikon D700 and a Sigma 24-70. Focusing was not a fun experience with the Sigma, thankfully I have upgraded to a NIkon 24-70 now and it seems to focus in the dark very well.

The model in these images is Aerlise, who had to wait around on a cold floor constantly waiting for the laser to drop on her head, as it was directly above her on a stand doing a bit of a wobbly balancing job directly above her. It was a bit precarious to say the least.

I think I might like to practice a bit more at this sort of stuff, its a bit different to the style of shooting I usually do. These are not too bad for a first attempt I think!

Anyway, hope you like,

Peace and love,

Rob :)
